God is good!

This week was full of exciting events. Let me share how good God is.

Myself and two other ladies I do ministry with went to vend at a fundraiser event for YouthHope this past Saturday(9/8/18). When we arrived at the park it was surrounded by classic cars. The event looked very well organized. Thank God there was a lot of big trees. This was are first time going to this park, we didn’t know what to expect. It was supposedly going to be in the 100’s that day but we prayed that it wouldn’t be that hot and actually it didn’t seem very hot at all. Thank you Jesus! We did keep cool by drinking water and eating a huge shaved ice thing. This thing was so good and it was perfect way to cool down.

We were set up by a food vendor and that was a little torturing at the beginning of our day lol. It smelled so good! We did get something to eat toward the middle of the event. I could say it was very delicious to say the least. Behind us was a kids fun zone and we kept seeing bowling balls and nerf bullets pass by our booths.

Throughout the event we spoke with other vendors, they were friendly. It was also some of their first time vending at this fundraiser. We met a few people that would casually look in our booths and check out our jewelry. We said hi to people passing by. There wasn’t a huge crowd but it was a very relaxed flow of people. Throughout the event I would pray for people and pray for people passing by. I honestly had to pray a lot for myself. I sometimes get nervous or like fearful and then I want to not be so social. Even though I love being social and meeting people the devil is a liar and wants to shut me up. I just had to pray through it, that's it. I also prayed for the event as it was going on, if something caught my attention. The event had a few things going on such as a raffles, a car show and a gymnastics show. They had a lot of things going on throughout the park which was really nice for the people and families that attended.

There was lady at the event that was a volunteer that bought a pair of earrings from me. She had a hard time deciding which ones she wanted. After making her purchase, my friend asked her if we can pray for her. She said yes and was blessed by what God spoke to her. After that there was two women that stopped at my friends booth next to us and they started talking about the Lord. My friend called me over because she told them that we were missionaries. Then we started talking about what the Lord has done in our lives. One of the ladies spoke into our lives and what she was seeing for us. That was really awesome. She was willing to receive prayer from us. It was definitely a divine appointment to meet those two ladies of God. I love when we meet more family in the Kingdom of God.

I’m honestly still working on renewing my mind about being in God’s family because of the fact that I wasn't raise or taught what a healthy family really is. I have, now more experience and keep experiencing what a healthy family is to replace the old mindset. It’s definitely a blessing to be loved, accepted by the body of Christ and to be called family. Family is important and I’m glad now that I have the opportunity to be in the greatest family ever, forever.

We honestly had a great time at this event. It was fun! If Papa God said for us to do it again next year, I would. Thank you Jesus that everything went well.

After we left the event we went to grabbed a bite to eat. The Lord lead us to this particular place. It’s one of our favorites, In and Out. As you know God protects us and he never wants harm for anyone. God loves his people and hates evil, we ended up blessing the restaurant and praying God’s plans for this business. You just never know what one prayer can do for thousands of people. It's honestly a blessing, honor and a privilege to serve the King of Kings and have a relationship with him. He is so good, all the time! After that I went home and relaxed for the rest of the day.

The next day I had a yard sale! Again they(weather app) predicted that it was going to be in the 100’s. I could say it was pretty hot but thank God I borrowed my friends canopy. I had a helper which is always nice, just in case I have to run inside and get something or use the restroom. We started at 9am and ended around 3. I felt okay during the yard sale but I was a little sleepy. I think the heat might of gotten to me. Well, anyway a man that I met a couple of months ago came by and was willing to donate some things. I prayed and a few things stood out to me to take. I thanked him for being willing to donate to our ministry. That was very kind of him for doing that. May God bless him for blessing us.

Can you believe that I had 2 tarps and 2 sheets full of stuff. I didn't think I had so much stuff. Praise God, its like if He multiplied it. I also had two tables, one with random stuff and the other was my jewelry. I talk to the people that came by and pray for them. Some I felt lead to just bless them and others I prayed a prayer for. I did get to met one of our neighbors from across the street. Which I’ve never seen before. She was so nice and we had a great conversion for a few mins. She ended up buying a purse and she mentioned to me a certain type of bead. I looked it up and they were extremely small type of bead. I told her I’ve never used those before but maybe in the future I will. It was nice of her to mention it to me though. I’m thinking she might really like that kind. It seems like every time I have a yard sale I met a neighbor of ours. That’s so funny. I like it though. The bible says we ought to love our neighbors as ourselves. How can I do that if I haven’t even met them or seen them?

It was a very relaxing and quiet Sunday. There wasn’t many people out like I thought there was going to be, since it was yard sale weekend. It was so quiet that I grabbed my guitar and played it while waiting for people to stop by. I love playing the guitar privately in my room but I have always loved singing outdoors. I stepped out in faith and played it outside. I’m still learning but I think it sounds okay enough to play outdoors. My helper looked a little embarrassed for me lol I think it might of been that I was singing about Jesus or maybe it just didn't sound good. I'm not completely sure. Lol But that ok, I had fun doing it.

That was my week! It was busy and full of loving and pray for people.

I would like to thank you all for praying for me this past weekend. Im am so blessed to be doing what I am doing only by the grace of God and by the prayers of the saints. I look forward to what God has next for Quest 4 God.

Blessings to you and your family.

Thank you for reading and supporting my journey with God.

Love, Janel Martinez
