Hello everyone, I hope your all having a wonderful week. I would like to share how the yard sale went on Saturday. I would first like to say thank you to all who prayed for me to have a great turn out on Saturday. I started setting up at 9 a.m. and it was already nice and hot. I knew having this yard sale it wasn't about making money but about reaching heart and telling people about Jesus. I honestly had 2 tables up, one of my jewelry and one with random stuff on it(4 for $1). Then I had 2 tarps on the lawn with girl's and women's clothes. I was all set up selling things by 9:30. Every person that stopped by I told them about being a missionary and about why I'm having a yard sale. There was a couple that was one of the first people to buy something and I asked him about his arm. I was all bandaged up. He said he had to go to the emergency because of high blood pressure. I asked him if I can pray with him since I believe that God heals our sicknesses. He was willing. I prayed for him and he was very thankful. A lady came a little after that and I told her that I was a missionary and everything I sell is for the ministry. She asked if I took donations and I said yes. She was willing to go to her house that moment and bring me a trunk full of stuff. At first I was like, Lord? Do you want me to take this stuff? He said Yes, don't miss out on your blessings. I was like ok, sounds good. I really didn't think it was going to be a trunk load. I was honestly expecting a few boxes. But Wow did God surprise me! I was in shock when she pulled up and had so much stuff, that she was willing to give me? It was good stuff too! I'm going to say that fifty percent of the stuff she gave me sold. I had been praying for the Lord to provide more stuff and look what happened. Right at the beginning of the yard sale God sent someone that was willing to donate stuff to the ministry. I blessed her and thanked her for being willing to bless us with more stuff. I have more stuff now and I'm looking forward to doing another one soon. Through out the yard sale things happened such as a man gave us a financial donation with out buying anything, which was really nice of him. Another man accidentally dropped one of my earrings that I was selling and broke one of them. At first my reaction was for the man to pay for it because he broke it but then I heard Papa say no, forgive him. Tell him I forgive you. I was like ok. I knew that man didn't do it on purpose but at the same time I felt Papa wanted him to know that he can be forgiven. He was thankful and sheepishly walked away. I truly forgive him and just said, Papa you can use anything for someone to feel your love and forgiveness. Then there was a lady that was shopping away and then told me that she didn't have any money on her so she had asked another person at the yard sale if she can borrow a few dollars and she ended up getting four dollars worth of stuff. She still wanted to get seven more dollars worth of stuff and I said you have to pay for it first before you take it. I honestly never really have a situation like that but I learned, be kind and loving but don't let people take advantage of you. Through out the yard sale I was thankful to Papa God for sending the ones that needed a touch or a blessing. I pray over all the stuff I receive, I pray that the people that need it will connect with it.
At the end of the yard sale I can admit the sun was getting to me. I kept hydrated and had a blast talking to people. But toward the end I was done for it. LOL I had two helpers that helped out which it was blessing. They helped me out a lot. I did make enough to cover all my helpers which was great. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to serve God in this garage/yard sale ministry. It's so funny because I had gotten a word a long time ago that I was going to start off by doing something like this. LOL Ministering to women and children, which I have a heart for. God is always doing a great work in us and this is definitely training for me.
While, I am writing this blog at the library since I don't have a phone yet. I am praying and hoping that I will get one over the weekend. It's time for me to go now.
Thanks for reading.
Blessings, Janel
